Over 2023, there were a few pilot who operated their T40 all summer using T30 batteries. When we followed up with them, they said they preferred the T30 batteries.
Kirk Wilmsmeyer, Missouri farmer and applicator, ran two T40s, each with four T30 batteries and one C8000 charger all of 2023 season.
Kirk had no issues with overheating the batteries on the T40. They did try to keep the batteries in the shade. Ran all day on those batteries. He said he'd choose the T30 batteries again.
AND he covered almost 13,000 acres in 2023. Kirk will be going into his third season with same batteries.
After hearing of Kirk's success, we conducted our own testing:

Use T30 batteries in your T40 if:
- You are doing repetitive flights spraying high volumes at max pump output.
- You are spraying mostly uniform field lengths and don’t need to fill your tank full every time
- You operate on fields that you can park next to in order to reduce deadhead time
Use DB1560 battery in your T40 if:
- You spray a lot of low volume and empty your tank slow (1 gal/ac)
- You spray a lot of fields that you cannot get close to and must deadhead a long distance
- You spray a lot of small irregular shaped fields
- You spray a lot of fields with obstacles that the drone must navigate around during flight
