Agri Spray Drones and EAV Launch U.S. Spray Drone Industry Advancement Initiative to Accelerate Data-Driven Adoption

BOONVILLE, MO — [12/16/2025] — Agri Spray Drones (ASD) and EAVision today announced the launch of the U.S. Spray Drone Industry Advancement Initiative, a collaborative national program designed to accelerate responsible adoption of spray drone technology through coordinated research, real-world deployments, and industry collaboration.

Through a generous equipment contribution from EAVision, a limited cohort of J150 spray drones will be deployed to selected industry operators and academic institutions across the United States. The initiative aims to generate high-quality, real-world performance data that validates spray drone efficacy across diverse crop types, geographies, and application scenarios.

By expanding the national dataset and aligning industry operators with academic researchers, the program seeks to strengthen the scientific and practical foundation needed for long-term growth of the U.S. spray drone industry. Agri Spray Drones will administer the program, provide training, and offer ongoing technical support to ensure each deployment delivers meaningful value to the broader agricultural community.

“In the U.S., spray drone research has lagged behind field adoption and has been highly uncoordinated,” said Taylor Moreland, Founder and CEO of Agri Spray Drones. “This initiative is designed to jump-start research using industry-leading technology and collaboration between operators and researchers to produce real, meaningful results that applicators can rely on for years to come.”

Industry Operators and Academic Institutions to Participate

As part of the initiative, 10 industry operators will be selected during the Spray Drone End User Conference (SDEUC) through a structured application process. To balance inclusivity and strategic impact, three operators will be selected at random from the qualified applicant pool, while seven will be hand-selected based on their involvement in high-value and specialty crop systems where additional validation is most needed. Drone recipients will be announced live during a dedicated awards ceremony at SDEUC.

In parallel, program administrators will collaborate with up to 15 academic partners, including land-grant universities and research institutions, to conduct trials ranging from droplet size and nozzle testing to application efficacy studies.

“The Spray Drone Industry Advancement Initiative will increase our understanding of drone spraying, produce valuable insights, and generate new data to grow this emerging industry and support drone operators,” said Dr. Steve Li, industry and academic leader in the spray drone sector and head of SDEUC. “ASD and EAVision’s generous drone donation will also allow more land-grant universities to be involved in meaningful spray drone research.”

Supporting Responsible Growth and Industry Standards

EAV’s contribution of J150 units reflects a shared commitment to advancing safe, compliant, and data-driven spray drone operations in the U.S. market.

“We believe the future of spray drones depends on credible data, strong partnerships, and responsible deployment,” said Dennis Chen, Chief Operating Officer of EAVision “By supporting this initiative alongside Agri Spray Drones, we are investing in the research, operator education, and industry collaboration needed to build long-term confidence in spray drone technology.”

Participants in the program will contribute operational data, educational content, and field-level insights that may be shared across industry channels to support best practices, regulatory discussions, and grower education.

Applications Opening Soon

Applications will open December 16. Additional details, eligibility requirements, and application materials are available via Agri Spray Drones’ official channels and through the formal program page.
